An intoxicating beverage which is an alcoholic liquor distilled from a fermented mash of grain such as malt, corn, rye, wheat or barley. This process requires that the Tennessee whiskey is filtered through a 10 foot layer of maple charcoal. This process is considered to give Tennessee whiskey a distinctive flavor and also makes it unusually mild.

Canadian Whiskey is made using only cereal grain. The grain most often used in Canadian whiskey is rye. Canadian whiskey has a lighter flavor.
